Free NHS health checks on offer in Ipswich
September 23rd, 2015Residents in Ipswich are being encouraged to take advantage of free health checks which will be on offer this Friday, 25th September.
In conjunction with Live Well Suffolk, the pharmacy team at the Sainsbury’s superstore at Warren Heath will be offering free NHS health checks to shoppers between 10am-1pm. The health checks, which normally cost £9, will be available to anyone aged between 40 and 74 and will include checks on blood pressure, BMI (Body Mass Index) and cholesterol levels.
Members of our team will also be giving out free healthy lifestyle advice on a number of topics, including losing weight, eating healthier, being more active and stopping smoking. We will be promoting two of our upcoming Lose Weight with Live Well Suffolk courses in Ipswich and a member of our child weight management team will also be on hand the chat if shoppers are concerned about their children’s weight and diet.
James Colchester, one of our adult weight management practitioners, said: “We are encouraging people to come down to Sainsbury’s on Friday and take advantage of the free health checks and wide ranging advice that will be available. It’s an ideal opportunity to find out more about the support we can offer, including our free weight loss courses, stop smoking advice and children’s weight management courses.”
The Sainsbury’s pharmacy team will also be offering flu jabs for £9.
We will be positioned at the entrance foyer at the Sainsbury’s Warren Heath store from 10am-1pm on Friday 25th September.
