New chair based exercise class for Haverhill

February 5th, 2013

For those looking for a gentle exercise class, we have a new chair based exercise class that will start in Haverhill on the 18th February at Leiston Community Centre on Leiston Road.

The free six-week course will take place on Monday mornings from 10am-11.15am, and is a low impact exercise class using elasticated resistance bands. Each class will combine a fun exercise session with practical workshops about how to improve your general health.

Chair-based exercise classes are an ideal alternative for people recovering from injury or otherwise concerned about the ability to stand during exercise. Each session combines a series of stretching movements with resistance bands to help strengthen muscles, loosen joints and improve circulation.

Oliver Langford, Senior Community Health Coach for Live Well Suffolk, said: “Our chair based exercise courses have proved popular in the past and are ideal for those who are unable to participate in active exercise. The course is open to people of all ages and is a great way to teach people how small, simple movements can help you improve your health and wellbeing.”

The chair based exercise course is expected to be popular and advance booking is required.

To register a place on any of the course, phone 01473 229292 or email tasters@livewellsuffolk.org.uk. Some eligibility criteria will be applied.
