Get Active disability activity guide

The Paralympic Games and the achievements of all the disabled people who took part in the event this summer has inspired and moved many people.

This is a great time to get into disability sport and there are plenty of opportunities in Suffolk to do this! Many people have been setting up new disability sport clubs and sessions across Suffolk in the years leading up to the Paralympic Games so there’s never been such a choice.

There are now many sports and activities available to people of all ages with learning, physical and sensory disabilities.

We hope that the list will keep on growing as many more disabled people are inspired to Get Active!

The activities available range from very active and competitive sports like wheelchair basketball and football, to boccia (a type of bowls) and multi sports sessions with a focus on having fun and joining in.

There are also regular disability swimming sessions across the county and other activities range from wheelchair tennis, powerlifting, athletics, exercise and sailing. We hope that there’s something for everyone!

Click here to go to the Suffolk Sports database to search for clubs and leisure facilities for disabled people.

Top tip: You can look for disability sport and whether the leisure facilities are accessible.
