Live Well Suffolk to bring New Year health messages to Sainsbury’s shoppers

January 10th, 2012

Live Well Suffolk will be offering Sainsbury’s customers the opportunity to learn more about their free health improvement programmes during two in-store events taking place on Thursday 12th January and Friday 13th January.

Representatives from the Live Well Suffolk team will be on hand to talk to customers at Sainsbury’s stores in Hadleigh Road (Thursday 12th) and Warren Heath (Friday 13th) about services which include weight management for both children and adults and stop smoking programmes. The team will also be demonstrating the exercise craze of zumba and inviting shoppers to sign up to free taster classes throughout January.

Also available for shoppers will be the opportunity to visit Sainsbury’s fruit and vegetable aisle with a qualified dietician who can explain the effects of different fruits and vegetables on the body. There’ll also be advice and guidance on different methods of food preparation and cooking styles.

Director of Live Well Suffolk, Tim Roberts said: “This is an exciting opportunity for us to join forces with Sainsbury’s to offer their customers the opportunity to learn more about how they can live a healthier lifestyle. The events will be extremely interactive and we hope to see as many people as possible over the two days!”

Jim Brady, Pharmacy Manager, Sainsbury’s added: “We are delighted to be welcoming the Live Well Suffolk team into our stores. We believe that it is important for people to be as healthy as they can, and we share many of the same goals as Live Well Suffolk!”

In addition to the two Ipswich events, the Live Well Suffolk team will also be providing stop smoking advice at the Sainsbury’s store in Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday 11th January.

Commissioned by NHS Suffolk, Life Well Suffolk is a ‘first’ because of its integrated approach. The ground-breaking, largely community-based service provides all-round support for individuals through locally based community health coaches, rather than tackling single issues in isolation.
